Complete has been hired by a major insurer to work Hurricane Ike claims and as an independent appraiser in Houston, Texas. The majority of these losses are associated with hotels, office complexes, churches, and manufacturing facilities damaged by the winds from Hurricane Ike. These properties range from near the Johnson Space Center to the Woodlands and out Katy Highway.
Many of the properties have flat roofs and our experience in commercial roofing and thermal imaging has been most helpful in settling these losses. We have become very familiar the Factory Mutual 152 wind uplift tests and their application in these losses. In addition we have been able to understand the time necessary to restore these properties from doing it over the last decade and apply that to the business income losses sustained.
We are working the contents and bringing in experts as necessary to determine the damages to some of these very technical specialized machines designed for industry. By the summer of 2009, we have handled more than 400,000 s.f. of commercial property appraisals.
